Deer Valley has been very consistent about providing the best of everything, and it’s a trait that the readers of SKI Magazine haven’t ignored. In fact they’ve rated Deer Valley as the Best Resort 2 of the last 3 years. But Deer Valley’s pursuit of perfection doesn’t end at the slopes; it trickles down to the accommodations. Over the last several years we’ve seen the list of luxury lodgings in the Deer Valley area steadily increase. Don’t get me wrong. The quality has always been there, but I think some existing properties are finally gaining the accolades they deserve, and some of the new properties are lifting the experience to a whole new level.
Most of the names are already familiar to you, but let’s go ahead and add another to the list, Montage Resort & Spa in Deer Valley’s Empire Pass. Located just down slope from the existing Empire Lodge, the Montage will add 173 luxurious hotel rooms and 90 whole ownership residences the the inventory in Empire Pass. In addition to the rooms, Montage will bring 15,000 sq. ft. of conference facilities, a 35,000 sq. ft. spa, several restaurants, retail shops, and of course ski concierge services.
The property broke ground this summer, and has been working on footings, foundation, and retaining walls. Take a look at the photo gallery for a better idea of where things stand. Doors are expected to open late in 2010, and the first property offering isn’t planned until late this year, or early next.
